Mario Charms by YellerCrakka Mario Charms by YellerCrakka
These are some of the Mario themed charms I make.

They are all made of polymer clay and painted with acrylics.

Some of these are a little big to be charms (the Shy Guy, Piranha Plant, and Blooper) , so I made them more just for general cuteness, paperweights or desk ornaments.

The Warp Pipe, Bob-omb, Chain Chomp, Cheep-Cheep, and Goomba are just the right size to be regular charms.

My favorites are the Bob-omb because, well, he's just adorable with his little winder, and the Chain Chomp because he was the hardest to make. He has a hollow mouth and individual teeth, as well as a little length of real chain. The Piranha Plant has individual teeth too, but it wasn't constantly trying to roll away.

I'm making a bunch of other little Mario guys too, but they'll have to wait for their own deviation.

These are for sale for various, very affordable prices. If you are interested in any, you can send me a note or e-mail me at YellerCrakka@Yahoo.com for details.

That chain chomp was one of the hardest things I ever made, his teeth were crazy, and it was really hard to paint the inside of the mouth behind them. @_@

My favorites are the Cheep-Cheep and Pirahna Plant. That penny really puts things in perspective, so I can imagine how difficult that Chain Chomp was. Good job

I just take a lump of clay and use my fingers to shape it into things. ^_^;; I don't know if there's really a trick or anything to it, besides lots of practice.

They look glazed though. I've made clay figs before, but they don't look all shiny... How long do you bake them for?

I do use a glaze, just some generic sealant, and I bake them for about 15 minutes per 1/4 inch of thickness.

But what if there is a little part. Like the bomb ombs fuse? Wouldnt that burn?

I don't know if there are really any ill effects to baking thinner parts, I've actually re-baked a few pieces before and they've been just fine.
