This is a pair of Kingdom Hearts themed Earrings, based on Namine's Sketchbook and Kairi's Lucky Charm, I was commissioned to make for someone.
Each charm is completely handmade out of polymer clay with metal accents and painted with acrylics. The charms are each about the size of a penny (the coin pictured), roughly half an inch tall.
These charms were originally part of a Friendship Paopu Fruit Necklace Set but they are so small, I wanted to take pictures of them solo so the detail could show a little more. The Lucky Charm I have made several times before, but the Sketchbook was a totally new piece, it has a real metal spine and I made the edges of the paper turn up a little bit, so it looks more like how a real worn sketchpad would be. And I picked a Paopu and Heart for the drawing because I think the Paopu is the ultimate symbol of friendship in the Kingdom Hearts world, and the Heart is both a connection to the title of the game, as well as a sign of their strong love.
Jewelry like this, as well as many other pieces can be commissioned by me. Check out my online store here: [link] or feel free to send me an e-mail at YellerCrakka@Yahoo.com if you're interested in anything.
I am the proud owner of one of the necklaces in the set that this was commissioned for (with the half paopu attached), and I love it so much! The sketchbook is so detailed, I love the shading and grooves on the pages and the corners. It's hard to make a clay rectangle look like a sketchbook but you definitely did a wonderful job. Thank you so much, my friend and I will treasure them forever! My only suggestion would be to use extra coats of paint (or maybe a more adhesive kind? I don't know much about art supplies) on the paopu because the paint began to wear after a while of wearing and banging into things like necklaces tend to do. But otherwise, beautiful work! (= I'm a big fan!
I am so glad you like it! I tried to put a lot of little details into the sketchbook in particular because I didn't want it to look like a plain brick of clay. And sorry about any damage to the paopu part, I had to switch to a new brand of paint a few months ago because they stopped making a color I used to use to mix their color, and I guess it's not as strong, so I should keep looking around, thanks so much for letting me know!
I started to make charms by myself but... this looks so difficult and hard to make Oo
